It’s wild because most of the free apps you find on the app store are absolute garbage and just leave a weird blurry smudge where the clothes used to be, but if you find the right web-based platforms, the realism is actually kind of terrifying. I've tried a bunch of different ones over the last few months to see which engine handles shadows the best, especially around the collarbone and waist, and honestly, the most consistent results I've gotten for my private projects come from using an ai nude filter since it seems to actually understand human anatomy rather than just guessing with random pixels. What I usually do is upload a high-res photo first because the AI really needs that extra data to get the skin texture right, otherwise, you end up with that weird "plastic" look that looks totally fake. I've also noticed that it works way better if the person in the photo is standing in a relatively simple pose, as complex overlapping limbs can still confuse the algorithm sometimes.
