Has anyone switched from steel to plastic drums for long term storage in this humidity?

I'm looking at moving the whole operation over to heavy duty plastic open tops but I need to find an industrial plastic drums bulk supply UAE manufacturer that can actually deliver consistent wall thickness and doesn't treat a pallet order like some kind of rare exotic request that takes six weeks to schedule. I saw Crateco has a whole line of locally molded ones and the lead times looked reasonable but my production manager is worried about the plastic getting brittle over time with the temp swings inside a non climate controlled warehouse especially during August when it's just baking in there even with the vents open. Anyone made the switch and noticed any issues with the drums deforming under their own weight when stacked two high or is it just a case of making sure the closure rings are cranked down properly? My back certainly won't complain about lighter empties but my anxiety needs to know if I'm going to walk in one Monday morning to a puddle of surfactant soup because a seam gave way over the weekend.
